artifact 1: The Diviner

"Yeou didn’t learn of Nabi’s death until the Diviner spun to life from its dusty perch, the gears churning through the cobwebs it had gathered in its sleep."

The Diviner is the first in smoke and mold's series of printed artifacts. This is a double-sided broadside meant to be displayed, read, handled and divined. The Diviner was created by Catherine Kim as part of her short story "The Infinite Forest," which appeared in Issue 6 of smoke and mold, May 2022. The Diviner was printed for smoke and mold by Meanwhile . . . Letterpress in September 2022.
